Quick Fix!

Quick Fix 03

Last week I went away for the weekend, and as you know by now my life is always a world win of events barely having a moment to catch my breath so, I was looking forward to the weekend. After the extremely stressful week I had I managed to break 2 of my nails so I needed to sort them out before I left for my weekend of relaxation. I tell you, I had one of those days where I just couldn’t get a design right. I tried about four different designs but I was just not satisfied with the outcome and the stubborn self that I am, I refused to have plain nails. If you have been following my Instagram account @LYManicure I posted a video on my new eBay purchases and I couldn’t be more grateful that they arrived when they did because on a night where I had so much to do I needed a quick fix for my nails, I couldn’t be happier with the results. I don’t know about you but, when I get a manicure right my insides do a little backflip with excitement, nothing could have prepared me for the reaction of the public to these beauties. Apart from the general grabs of my hands in admiration there was a lady that literally screamed with excitement when she saw them, she stopped her colleagues from working to come and admire my nails which caught me completely off guard but, humbled me in a way that I could never put into words. So from that reaction I figured I’m definitely doing something right and even though I had planned to only do a product review for this week I could not wait to show you this manicure.

This was my second attempt at using these water transfer decals and considering I was suffering from severe fatigue I could not be happier with the results. These are perfect for when you don’t have much time to do your nails but you want something pretty, and once you get the hang of placing them they are a dream to work with. Unfortunately a didn’t take a picture of the decals I used before I placed them but the picture below are a few of the other designs I have which I will definitely be using for my future quick fixes and I ordered a few more because I love them that much. Make sure you follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss out! 🙂

What you need:

  • Water Transfer Decals – basically these are tattoos for your nails.
  • Small bowl of water
  • Tweezers
  • Base and Top Coat – you can find my preferred base & top coat in my previous posts. On A Budget
  • Two shades of nail polish
  • In this manicure I’ve used Essence No. 83 Pretty Cool Life On my Thumb & Essence No. 48 My Love Diary on my index finger.
  • Glitter
  • Gems (optional)

How it’s done:

  1. I started by painting all my nails with a white base coat
  2. Once my base coat was dry I cut out the decals that I was going to use the size doesn’t need to be exact I would say slightly bigger is safer, I placed them in water I then removed them from the paper with a tweezer and placed them on my middle and baby finger.
  3. I painted my index finger with 2 coats of Essence No. 48 my love diary
  4. I then painted my thumb with 2 coats of Essence No. 83 pretty cool life
  5. On my ring finger I used clear nail polish and glitter
  6. Lastly I placed the gems on the fingers with the decals
  7. Painted my top coat
  8. Cleaned up

Quick Fix 02

Unfortunately I didn’t get as many pictures as I would have liked to do them the justice they deserve. The only negative thing I would say about these is that after a week you do get a bit of tip wear but that’s to be expected from a quick fix.
